This is it ladies! It’s our last week and we hope that all of you will join us for both nights this week as we finish out our 10 weeks of training! You have all done an incredible job and we are so proud of each of you!

Tonight (Monday) – Meet at Craighead at 6 pm – park in the parking lot beside pavilion 1 (the one on the hill across from the old swim area)

Thursday – Meet at the old NEA Hospital at 6 pm

Also, here are some important details for those of you signed up for the race. Remember, tomorrow is the deadline to register!!! Go to and register. Even if you didn’t complete the training with us, you can still go!!!

CONFIRMATION EMAILS:  Everyone that signs up for the 5K on line will receive a confirmation email.  Everyone should  check that everything is correct on their registration such as Age, Shirt Size, Category, etc.  The email should give the option to make correction if needed.  If not, email Jennifer at and she will take care of it.  Reminder that this year’s shirts are a women’s cut, so keep this in mind when selecting shirt size.

PACKET PICK UP:  To pick up your packet, the email confirmation along with Drivers License is required.  If picking up a packet for someone else, a copy of their email confirmation and Driver’s License is required.
                                                                 Packet pick up places and times:  
Sporty Runner, 1016 Van Ronkle Street:                Thursday May 8th from 1 PM to 5 PM:    Friday May 9th, from 11 AM to 5:30 PM
Pasta Party, St. Joseph Parish Hall, 501 Front Street:  Friday, May 9th 6:30 PM until dinner time.
Race Day, Conway High School, 2300 Prince Street:  6:30 AM to 7:45 AM

MULTIPLE PACKET PICK UP:  If you are planning to pick up for a group, you will need a copy of each of their Drivers License and email Confirmation.  IMPORTANT!!!  If you are picking up for groups of 4 or more, do not plan to pick these up until after 2 PM on Thursday, May 8th.  We will not get the bibs in time to be able to pull these entries and have them put aside for you so you don’t have to wait.  URGENT!!!  Please email any group packet pick up list to Jennifer no later than Wednesday, May 7th at 5 PM so she will be able to get all of the lists printed for the group pick up.

RAFFLE:  This year the raffle is for two Garmin watches (a runner/walker must have).  Please encourage your ladies to purchase tickets for the drawing after the race.

DOOR PRIZES:    If you have door prizes for the race, please contact Jennifer so she can add them to the list.  Also, any items for the race goodie bags must be here by thisTuesday  May 6th for packet stuffing.

PASTA PARTY:   Pasta Party- inspirational speaker, Erin Henderson. Food and fellowship with the other clinics across the state.  Don’t forget to bring your clinic shirt for the contest!!!  Pasta Party is May 9th at 6:30 PM at St. Joseph Parish Hall, 501 Front Street.

WOMEN CAN RUN/WALK 5K:  Your goal is to finish, whether it be run all of it, run/walk all of it or walk all of it.  You have devoted 10 weeks of training through all kinds of weather and this is your reward and the icing on the cake.  Conway will give out fantastic finishers medal for every lady that finishes.

Hey ladies, for tonight:

1. Meet at craighead forest park at 6 pm at the parking lot below pavilion #1 on the hill (across from the old swim area). Check facebook, email, and blog for rain cancellations. We will hold a moment of silence tonight for those who lost their lives in the severe weather yesterday.

2. Register for Conway race at 3. Our Theme for this year's race is "Wild about WCR" so anything animal print!!!!

Hey Ladies!

Tonight's clinic is cancelled due to impending weather conditions. We'll have a make up day on Saturday at 2pm at Craighead Forest Park. We'll meet in the old swim area (pavilion 1).  This will also be our new meeting location starting on Monday. We hope to see you all Saturday! Stay safe in case of bad weather!

On your own, between now and Thursday, do a warm-up, stretches, and ….

·        Walkers and Beginning Runners should do 5 minute run and 2 minute walk.
·        Intermediate Runners should do 8 minute run and 2 minute walk
·        Advanced Runners should do a 3 mile run.

Happy Monday ladies! 

There are several local events coming up this week that we would like to share with you.

Marathon Month
The Jonesboro Public Library is sponsoring a marathon program for the month of April. It's open to the public and it's free! Sign up at the library and walk or run on your own time, or join the library staff Monday through Friday at either 9am or4pm to walk around downtown Jonesboro neighborhoods. You can include your miles from Women Can Run. Once you have completed 26.2 miles, turn in your miles at the library and receive a marathon finishers medal!  You can sign up your whole family! Newton Running Shoe Demo Night
Gearhead Outfitters is sponsoring a shoe demonstration night.  This Friday, April 4, Newton Running will be at Gearhead's downtown location to provide demo shoes for you to try on and walk or run in them.  The event is from 5:30-7:30pm. There will be a fun run/walk starting at 6pm.  Pizza and Beverages will be served at 6:30pm.  15% off all running and walking gear, giveaways, and register to win a free pair of Newton shoes.  Bring a friend and get two raffle tickets! 2 Mile Walk/Run to benefit the American Cancer Society
Embrace The Race 2 Mile Run and Walk, this Saturday, April 5 at 8am. Race will start/finish at Twin Oaks Health and Rehabilitation, 2911 Browns Lane in Jonesboro.
